Following two additional recognitions this year, the Innovations in Alzheimer’s Caregiving Award and Crain’s Nonprofit Notable, CaringKind is proud of Doucette for his achievements in raising awareness about Alzheimer’s caregiving.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – The American Marketing Association (AMA) Nonprofit Marketer of the Year Award honors extraordinary leadership and achievement in the field of nonprofit marketing. To be considered, nominees must be currently employed at a nonprofit organization with an active 501(c)(3) category tax status and their current responsibility must focus on branding, marking, and communications aspects of the organization.

The AMA looks for a candidate who has achieved breakthroughs and advances in organizing and planning, developed unique methodologies, show effective collaboration, and implemented creative approaches to solving marketing and communications problems. Also, they look at whether the candidate’s work has helped to advance or transform the organization and shown thought leadership in the field. One award is granted to a regional nonprofit and one to a national nonprofit.

Since joining the fundraising team in 2018, Doucette has helped focus CaringKind’s brand on Alzheimer’s caregiving. One way he did this was by creating a storytelling podcast, “Caregiver/Storyteller” about Alzheimer’s and dementia caregiving. The podcast reached #1 on the iTunes charts for caregiving and was nationally recognized with the “Innovations in Alzheimer’s Caregiving” award by the Family Caregiver Alliance in February 2021.

He helped keep stakeholders engaged during the pandemic by creating a weekly livestream, created a video-based social media campaign, and overhauled the quarterly newsletter and email marketing strategy.

He is currently leading an upgrade to the donor database and communication systems by adopting a Salesforce strategy. The new system should help CaringKind engage even more supporters for events like the CaringKind Alzheimer’s Walk on October 10th. The project is expected to complete on September 1st.
